Information That May Be Collected
Information arrives in three main ways. A message may include the sender’s name, email address, and whatever text the sender provides. The server and service providers may automatically record an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, viewed pages, approximate location, and visit time. Cookies or similar tools may retain preferences and support analytics or advertising.
A query entered into a third-party search box passes to that search provider. It is not an official request to the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Office, Presque Isle County Jail, a Michigan court, or MDOC. Avoid placing highly sensitive personal information in a search or message.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the site, answer site-related messages, measure traffic, diagnose errors, remember preferences, improve content, and display or assess advertising. It may also help detect abuse or comply with a valid legal obligation. The site does not use a visitor’s message to create an official arrest, jail, or court record.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Information may be retained as long as needed for the purpose collected, legal compliance, dispute handling, security, and normal backups, then deleted or anonymized when practical.
